STYLE STORY: CIAA 2014 (part one)

It's the week of CIAA and Charlotte, NC is buzzing!  Celebs and parties galore have taken over uptown and I love it.  It's the time to see and be seen.  Although the tournament itself has been going on since Tuesday, I'm just now stepping out (as are most people) considering that not many of us attend the actual basketball games, but come moreso for the "social atmosphere".

Normally I host my annual Mode Noir fashion week during the tournament, but this year I took a brief hiatus from producing and lent my support to some of my fashion friends, as well as took to the streets to cover some Charlotte Street Style.

Today I attended the Glamour Girl Playground hosted by Emily B of Love & Hip Hop NY produced by a group of ladies collectively titled as Women Who Network.  The event was a success as we celebrated and networked with women of all backgrounds while being glamorous!

I selected this mint green multi-color paisley print Elle VJ dress (of course) because it's a distinct stand out.  With thousands of people in the city, I definitely wanted to stand out amongst the crowd, and this dress was the perfect option.  Of course it was very chilly this weekend so I decided to pair this chic black cape with a short sleeve that further adds to the look considering how it still shows off the arm pattern of the dress.  Add some complimenting accessories - earrings and purse also from Elle VJ + a comfy olive green ankle boot, perfect for walking, and you have a great look to kick the weekend off!

Did I fail to mention the new eyewear, Ralph by Ralph Lauren, style RA5168 in purple with a cat eye design.  They're very different from my normal look, but I absolutely love them.
