Interior Styling: Office Layout

If you've been following the blog, you're aware that I'm in the process of redecorating my apartment (read HERE), something I began, but stopped about a year ago.  During the process of visiting various stores in search of perfect accent pieces and add-on's, I stumbled across the deal of the century.

To give you a little history of how significant this deal of the century is, let me preface by saying that I've been obsessed with velvet furniture, in particular, mid-century velvet designs for quite some time.  I'm such a fan of anything classic and refined, and although some velvet designs can be interpreted as a little eclectic, when styled properly, it can become a classic masterpiece.

Fast forward to me dropping into Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit home improvement store, where I saw this beautiful mid-century velvet sofa in pristine condition; literally not a smear, rip, or tear on it.  Initially I stood in awe admiring the piece, snapped a few photos, and ultimately talked myself out of purchasing it because it didn't fit the current aesthetic of my living room.  After a night of unrest and continually thinking about this rare find, I called the store the following day to inquire if the sofa was still available, and to my surprise it was.  During my lunch hour away from work, I made a beeline to the store, credit card in hand, ready to swipe and seal the deal on my dream couch.  You will not believe what I saw, when I walked into the store . . . . . a sign stating all couches were 25% off . . . . OMG!

Now that I've purchased my perfect mid-century velvet couch, intended for my office, I have to make one confession . . . . I currently do NOT have an office, lol.  I'm sure you're thinking, she's absolutely crazy, but there's no way I could pass up on this deal and live with the regrets of not taking advantage of this opportunity.  So here I am, with an amazing couch that retails from $2,000-$7,000 (scored for a minute fraction of the cost), and even more amazing ideas and concepts of how to style it, with nowhere to put it.  For now, I'm going to store this piece in my dad's garage and it's my declaration (not my hope) that I'll secure an office space at the onset of the new year.

Check out a few inspirational pics below, and shop the couch HERE.
