LaVonndra Johnson (widely known as Elle, or Elle VJ - a derivative of her initials) is the creative and stylish force behind the Elle brand - a style boutique and media agency with a consultative approach.  A Charlotte, NC native and self proclaimed southern belle with a twist, Johnson operates by one theme:

"The only way to dress is UP."

Johnson holds a long standing career within the Charlotte fashion community and beyond.  Johnson initially opened the doors to Elle VJ in March of 2009 as a women's brick and mortar boutique known for carrying a signature collection of dresses, shoes, and accessories.  Elle VJ became notable and sought out for dressing area socialites, dignitaries, and celebrities alike.  While operating the boutique, Johnson crossed paths with local area photographers, hair and makeup artists, and eventually took on the position as Vice President of Cinhte Magazine, a high fashion magazine for people of color with distribution throughout the southeastern United States.  Johnson remained in this role until the last printed issue dated March 2012.

At the onset of 2012, Johnson made local history by creating and producing the first 3 night fashion week during the annual CIAA tournament titled Mode Noir.  Mode Noir boasted numbers upwards of 750+ attendees and featured designers from the south, east, mid-west, and even international designers.  Deemed a must attend event by JET Magazine, Johnson set a new standard of producing and showcasing talent within her respective area.

In client news, Johnson managed and coordinated the nationally televised grand opening of Sports ONE Charlotte for Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas of the Real Housewives of Atlanta.  (read HERE)

As of 2017, Johnson has undergone a re-branding initiative and taken on the name, Elle Johnson Co.  The brand focus is centered around the 3 B's: BRANDING - BEAUTE - and BUSINESS.

  • BRANDING & BUSINESS - creating noteworthy events centered around the art of style and the acronym D.R.E.S.S (read HERE); and developing client branding initiatives and marketing
  • BEAUTE - a botanical based skin care line formulated for all skin types and tones (shop HERE)

Johnson is also the Publisher and Editor-at-Large of Queen City Magazine, based in Charlotte, NC.
